A rollover crash injured one person yesterday in DeKalb County, near the Indiana/Ohio state line. It happened just before 5 PM on CR-64, just west of the state line. The driver of the vehicle reportedly lost control on a curve and the car rolled over several times before coming to a stop on its wheels. Police say the driver was uninjured, but a passenger in the front seat, an unidentified juvenile was taken to Hicksville Hospital with pain in his head, neck and his leg.
Police are looking for information about a residential burglary in Angola. At some point during the last month, someone entered the home located at 0585 S. Old SR-1 and stole a refrigerator and two garage door openers. While inside, the suspect or suspects knocked a water line loose, causing significant damage to the inside of the home. The home was up for sale and had been vacant at the time the items were taken. A realtor who was showing the home discovered what had happened. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 668-STOP. You may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
An Angola man has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars for dealing meth. 26-year-old Daniel Sheets was in court yesterday where his sentence was handed down. He was arrested back on October of 2010 as part of an IMAGE Drug Task Force operation that netted 15 arrests in total. With credit for good behavior and time served, Sheets could be out of prison less than seven years.
